About Our Founder
Tammie Miller’s love for horses began in childhood, but it wasn’t until adulthood that she was able to have a horse of her own. After sustaining injuries in an auto accident in 1999 that prevented her from riding, she discovered the world of miniature horses—and she was hooked.
Her journey with minis began in 2003 when she welcomed her first four into her life. In 2004, she joined the Blue Water Miniature Horse Club (BWMHC), where she made lifelong friends and cherished memories. Tammie actively served on several committees, spent eight years as the club’s newsletter editor, and held the role of treasurer for four years. From 2007 to 2010, she hosted the club’s fun shows at her farm—some of her most treasured experiences.
In 2009, Tammie became involved with Chance’s Miniature Horse Rescue (CMHR), first as a member and later as a director at large. She began fostering for CMHR in 2010, providing a safe haven for several horses in need. That same year, she took on the role of treasurer, deepening her commitment to rescue work. In December 2011, she stepped away from her roles at BWMHC to further dedicate herself to rescue efforts. For the next several years, she remained actively involved with CMHR.
When CMHR closed its doors, Tammie knew the need for rescue work was still great. On September 17, 2014, she turned that realization into action, founding Saving Grace Miniature Horse Rescue.
Since then, Tammie has dedicated herself wholeheartedly to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming miniature horses in need, ensuring they find the love and care they deserve. Her unwavering dedication continues to make a lasting impact, one little horse at a time.
